Six months after we began dating, we decided to get married…secretly. Five months after we eloped, we celebrated an engagement…publicly. We never had a honeymoon. We still do not have wedding rings. We only started living together after Sam’s apartment flooded. Now Nikki is 13 weeks pregnant. Our relationship has an amazing streak of being completely non-traditional. But not without consequence! Nikki’s family has not met Sam’s family. Sam’s friends have not met Nikki’s friends. From Friday May 23rd, 2025 through Tuesday May 27th, 2025, we aim to change this. We’ve rented a big ol’ cabin in the Poconos Mountains of Pennsylvania because nothing brings people closer together than forced proximity. The event is divided into two parts: family for the first 2 ½ days (Friday afternoon to Sunday morning) and friends for the second 2 ½ days (Sunday afternoon to Tuesday morning). It’s a beautiful area, so get ready to eat, drink, and enjoy the forested mountains of Pennsylvania. And please…no gifts! Just bring yourself and your wallet to help with some groceries.
